A place that became like home filled with people that became family.
Testimony by our supporter, volunteer, friend and family⸻ Ms. Adi!
Less than three months ago, I was in the Philippines visiting Subic Bay Children’s Home. Now, people from the Filipino government are trying to remove all the children based on a single unsupported allegation – with no proper investigation. Several children have already been taken, and the rest are at risk of being removed soon. It’s wrong, it’s unjust, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.
These kids are loved, well-fed, and well cared for. They’re not just being looked after they’re being raised like family. They ARE family.
What shocks me most is that I’ve spent time with the Filipino people. They are kind, welcoming, and hospitable. I’ve always felt not only welcomed in the country, but at home there. That’s why it’s so disappointing that such a drastic decision is being made without FIRST conducting a proper investigation.
These past few days, I’ve been absolutely sick over this situation.
But I know we serve a big God who can do BIG things. Please, please, please pray with me that God will move in a powerful way and allow these kids to stay in their home. And if that’s not God’s will, then we are praying for their safety, strength, and comfort during this heartbreaking time.
Praise the Lord these children have been taught about Jesus and know God’s Word. They have a hope and an anchor rooted in Him. Our strength can come from Him alone.

Every time i visit Subic Bay Children’s Home , I am always immediately touched by the warm smiles and the sense of family that surrounds me. What could have felt like a place of sadness was instead filled with laughter, hope, and genuine care.

The ever supportive tatay Pastor Ted Fulfer which was the bestfriend of my father way back in the early 90’s, Nanay Ligaya which was my mom’s boss when she worked as a librarian and official uniform sewer of the Mt. Kalayaan ACE students, (old name of SBBC Academy). My beloved sister Annalisa and Pastor Odek, dedicated staff members work tirelessly to provide not only the basic needs of food, shelter, and education but also the love, encouragement, and emotional support every child deserves. Their passion for nurturing these children’s dreams is inspiring. Each staff member treats the children with kindness, patience, and respect, creating an environment where they can grow and feel truly valued.
I had the privilege of meeting several children, and their stories were both moving and inspiring. Despite difficult beginnings, they carry a strong sense of resilience. With the guidance of Subic Bay Children’s Home, many are excelling in school, discovering their talents, and dreaming of bright futures.
What struck me most was the sense of community. It is not just an orphanage—it is a home, a safe haven, and a place where young lives are rebuilt with love and hope. SBCH is not just giving these children a place to stay; they are giving them a chance to dream, to achieve, and to know that they are not alone.

Hello everyone, I am Jonrine Digdigan.
I am so proud to say that I grew up at Subic Bay Children’s Home. I thank God because during my time there, He used the Fulfer family and the Valbuena family to bless my life.
I will always be grateful for everything they have done for me. Growing up in Subic Bay Children’s Home helped shape who I am today.
A little background about my life growing up at Subic Bay Children’s Home:

I came to SBCHome when I was 9 years old. Before that, I stayed in an orphanage in Batangas. Unfortunately, that orphanage was shut down by the DSWD, and all the children there were returned to their families. But I didn’t have a family to go back to, so I was transferred to Subic Bay Children’s Home.
While growing up in SBCHome, I already felt the love of people who were not my biological parents. They truly cared for children like me—those who had been abandoned by their families. Their love and care made me feel safe, accepted, and valued.
The SBCHome family also supported me by sending me to college at Bataan Peninsula State University, where I studied animal science and agriculture. While at SBCHome, I also learned many valuable skills, such as driving vehicles and operating heavy equipment.
Now, I have the privilege of teaching these skills to the kids at SBCHome, passing on what I have learned to help them as well.
At SBCHome, they didn’t just provide for my needs—they gave me the most important thing in this world: a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I gave my life to Christ and was saved in 2015. I fully surrendered my life to Him, and I was baptized in September 2019.
And now, life keeps going on, and God continues to use me in our church, Subic Bay Baptist Church. I serve as a Sunday School teacher, and I am also a third-year Bible student.
I truly thank God for SBCHome. Behind SBCHome, there are people who have sacrificed their lives and fully surrendered themselves to give a future to children in need.
James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
