Testimony by our supporter and former child⸻ Brother John Paul!
I first arrived at Subic Bay Children’s Home in 2004 and stayed there for four years. During that time, I never witnessed any form of abuse. Yes, there was discipline, but it was always carried out in accordance with biblical principles.
The children were well provided for—receiving breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner daily, along with special Friday Family Nights where we could request food like pizza and enjoy movies together as a family.

The mission of the Children’s Home has always been to help, shelter, and love street children and abandoned children, raising them to be God-fearing and responsible individuals.
Many former residents have since graduated and gone on to become pastors, missionaries, teachers, social workers, agriculturists, and professionals both in the Philippines and abroad, myself included.
Education at the Children’s Home followed the Accelerated Christian Education program, enabling many children to advance academically at a young age. Kuya Odek, one of the key father figures, cared deeply for the children, often using his own resources to meet their needs. The children also received regular medical, dental, and physical care, including daily vitamins to support their health. Those requiring special medical attention, like Mikko, were fully supported by the Home.
Despite all these positive contributions, a single baseless accusation led to a sudden raid where the children were taken without due process. This action deprived children—who had been living safe, healthy, and meaningful lives—of everything they had. These children have hearts and emotions, and such an unwarranted raid has caused them severe mental and emotional trauma. Raffy Tulfo in ActionRaffy Tulfo DSWD NCR Olongapo City Police do better.
I respectfully ask that the good work of the Subic Bay Children’s Home be recognized, and that the rights and well-being of the children be given the utmost priority in any future actions.

Hi, I am Rosemarie Sevilla and I would like to share my story on how I came to Subic Bay Children’s Home. I was 6 months old when I came to Subic Bay Children’s Home. My parents separated and had their own families. My brothers and I are sleeping in the dog cage with no shelter and food to eat. My whole body was full of sores, when my grandma heard about our situation she decided to take us to the orphanage. That day my grandparents started looking for an orphanage for us to have a good and better life. When she heard about the Subic Bay Children’s Home she decided to take us there.
While I lived and grew, I learned to read and write and sing in church. When I was 8 years old and I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior. I believe it was 4 years later; Pastor Odek was preaching on salvation and how we must repent, and I was truly convicted of my sin and asked Christ for forgiveness and entered a personal relationship with him.
God used nanay (Ligaya) at tatay (Pastor Ted) so that I could have a beautiful life. I want everyone to know that I am a good result and fruit of Subic Bay Children’s Home.
As I grew up, I learned so much from them on how to carry myself as a Godly woman. I also felt true love from Nanay Ligaya and tatay Pastor Fulfer, Pastor Odek and Ms. Annalisa. They took care of me and my brothers and provided for all our needs. They were the people who truly gave my siblings and me the love that our real parents never did. Cause I believe that family isn’t always by blood but it’s by HEART.
I understand now that raising a lot of children with different attitudes is not easy, but still they spent a lot of time patiently guiding, loving, protecting, and caring for us.
I want to thank them for everything they have done for me and to make me who I am today. I thank them for never giving up on sharing the Word of the Lord with us. I know and I do believe that their only goal for us was to have a good life and build a strong relationship with the Lord. Subic Bay Children’s Home will never forget everything you taught me. You will always be in my heart.
I know I have much to be thankful for. The Subic Bay Children’s Home is not just my home, it is also my family, and to those who are trying to destroy my family, please stop. Instead, focus on how you can be a blessing to children who need a loving and spiritual family that will lead them to the Lord. I’m forever grateful for these people that keep being a blessing to others.

As most of you know Paul and I spent 14 days with these wonderful people. Missionaries, Staff and those precious children. We were with staff members who grew up in the Children’s Home and wanted to stay because of the love they experienced there. It was their safe place. We talked with children one on one. One of the things we shared with churches was how everyone who had so little was so happy and felt so loved.
The Light and Love of Jesus shown through this place. Please pray for them. The Evil One is seeking to destroy but we know our God is Bigger and HE is in control.
