Testimony by our supporter and former child⸻ Brother Christian!

My name is Christian Briando Riego and I grew up in Subic Bay Children’s Home.

Subic Bay Children’s Home is my Home. It wasn’t just a home that was filled with the traditional warmth and familiarity, often associate with the Word, but also, it was a roof above my head, a place of structure, and, in it’s own way, a foundation upon which I begun to build my life.

I came in the Children’s Home when I was Seven years old along with my 3 siblings.

Well, the story of my life is, when I was just 6 yrs old, my father had a tragic tricycle accident and it was the time that our mother cannot give us enough food,

so she decided to give us to Subic Bay Children’s Home, so that we we can have a beautiful, successful, and meaningful life.

Life inside those wall was a rhythm of bells and routines, but within that rhythm, there were moments of real connection. That feeling, and the small spark of belonging kept me going.

Not everyday was easy, there were some days that I feel invisible, lost in the crowd, days when I ached for a family, for someone to say, “I am here, and I see you.” but despite of those days , there was always something..,a shared laugh, a helping hand, a quiet moment of understanding.

It reminded me that I wasn’t completely alone.

Today, I am proud to say that I am now a skilled worker, and finishing carpentry and many more. I am aslov teaching the younger boys whom the DSWD took from us and I was so affected that I cannot get enough sleep thinking of them.

My story is a living testament of the fact that even when life began in a place of loss, it can blossom into something beautiful, and meaningful life. This story written not just with ink, but it came from the bottom of my heart.

please continue to pray for my family, the children, and that God would work in the minds and hearts of those within the Filipino government. my heart is broken for the situation happening in more than one childrens’ home/orphange in the Philippines.

Mark 10:14

“But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”

WE SUPPORT SBCHOME !

Testimony by our supporter, family, and former child⸻ Pastor Ronnie!

I am Ronnie Querubin. A pastor of a growing and thriving church in Bataan, husband and father of four beautiful children. Please allow me to share my testimony of how God so graciously brought me to my current state.

I will always be grateful for Subic Bay Baptist Church and the Subic Bay Children’s Home, where the Missionary Fulfer family has played a key role in helping and blessing my life.

At ten years old, I joined Subic Bay Children’s Home as the third child among twelve in a struggling family. My parents could not provide for all of us, but the Subic Bay Children’s Home became a source of hope. They welcomed me with love, taught me to read and write through Nanay (Mom) Ligaya Fulfer, and emphasized the importance of salvation. Subic Bay Children’s Home is both a family and a true home, where love and care are shown. Nanay (Mom) and Tatay (Dad) treated every child fairly, believing in me even at my most mischievous. This family taught me that following the Word of God is the key to a successful life. I have personally surrendered my life to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

At the Subic Bay Children’s Home, I also learned life skills like driving and the value of hard work. The Fulfer Family, Subic Bay Children’s Home supported me by sending me to college at Doane Baptist Seminary in Iloilo City. I studied pastorate there, though the distance, I always feel loved because they are always there to send me my everyday needs.

After I graduated, I was able to help in the ministry, every week, we go to the Prison Ministry & Hospital ministry where we share the Word of God that we have learned inside the Subic Bay Children’s Home & Subic Bay Baptist Church. I am forever grateful for Subic Bay Children’s Home, the Fulfer Family & Valbuena Family, as they continue to help children like me where there is no hope, but thanks be to God they are used to help us have a good and godly life. By God’s grace and the help of the missionaries I am now a pastor and met my Godly wife at Subic Bay Baptist Church and we now have four children who are growing in the nurture and admonition of our Lord and being used in the ministry.

May God bless you always, Subic Bay Children’s Home.

Testimony by our supporter and former child⸻Ms. Rachel

My name is Rachel Caparas. I grew up in Subic Bay Children’s Home and want to testify about my experiences there, which I consider my home. I was born on February 21, 1994, to an alcoholic mother and a cruel father who often beat me. My father couldn’t stand to look at me because he believed I wasn’t his daughter. My other siblings didn’t believe I was their sister either, so they were very mean to me and beat me too.

My mother herself brought me to Subic Bay Children’s Home on August 6, 1996. I was only two years old and was severely malnourished and abused at that young age. I also had a bad ear infection, which caused a foul-smelling discharge to flow down my face and neck. However, with constant attention, medication, and prayers, I was healed.

It took a while for me to adjust to a different lifestyle than the one I had with my biological family. Growing up in the Children’s Home, there were times when I felt alone and hopeless.

But I’m grateful to God for using people with big and genuine hearts, like Ptr. Ted, Nanay Ligaya, Ms. Annalisa, and Ptr. Rodrigo. These people nurtured me and gave me the love I thought didn’t exist. In the Children’s Home, they not only fed us physically but also spiritually. I learned to be God-fearing and to love God and others as myself.

At 15, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and personal Savior. My eyes were opened, and it gave me hope that even to the end of this world, He would never leave me nor forsake me. I’m still holding onto His promises. I’ll never forget what the Subic Bay Children’s Home has done for my life. If not for the people God used, I wouldn’t have been able to get past the hurt and pain I felt as a kid. I was so loved and cared for, and I know that.

Testimony by our supporter and former child⸻Bro. Joseph

My name is Joseph Montoya, and it is only by the grace of God that I stand before you today. I am humbled and grateful for this opportunity—not to lift myself up, but to glorify the Lord for what He has done in my life through SBCH, through this ministry, and through the people He used to show me His love.

Now, let me share a little about my journey. I don’t share this for pity, but to proclaim the goodness of God. Before coming to SBCH, I stayed in two orphanages. I remember little of the first, and the second was in Batangas during my younger years. Life there wasn’t hard—but it wasn’t good either. It was survival, not really living.

In 2007, I was brought here to SBCH after the orphanage in Batangas was shut down by the government—because of what I thought, or maybe what turned out to be false accusations. But what seemed like a closed door at that time, God used to open the best door for me. It was here in SBCH that I experienced not only care and protection, but also the transforming grace of God.

When I came to SBCH, life completely changed. We had daily devotions, Wednesday prayer meetings, and Sunday services—that became life for me, life in the Lord.

SBCH didn’t just give me food, shelter, and education like ACE, they even invested in me by sending me to Bible college in Quezon City where I majored in Music. More than that, they treated me like their own. But what I treasure most is that here, I got saved and baptized. Everything else—the food, the shelter, the education—was just a privilege and grace from God. And it always makes me think of what David said in Psalm 116:12: “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?”

Today, I stand not as a victim of the past, but as a testimony of God’s redeeming power. What the enemy meant for harm, God turned for good.

He has restored me, given me hope, and filled my life with purpose. As the Scripture says in 1 Corinthians 15:10 (KJV): “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain.”

And now, by His grace, He is using me in the Music Ministry here at Subic Bay Baptist Church—to serve Him, to lift up His name in worship, and to lead others into His presence. Truly, Psalm 150:6 (KJV) says, “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” That is my calling and my joy.

And whenever I look back at my journey, I am reminded of God’s mercy and faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV) says, “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

If there is one thing I want to leave with you, it is this: God’s grace is enough for you. His mercies are new every morning. No matter what your past looks like, God can take your brokenness and turn it into a testimony for His glory.

All glory belongs to God alone. I am nothing without His grace. Everything I am and everything I do is only because of Him. As it is written in Philippians 1:6 (KJV): “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Thank you, and may God bless you all.
